WARNING!
ZyXEL is the perfect modem. Too perfect for reality...
AT&FL0X7&D3&R0&Y2S7=90S10=30 OK ATS35=33S42=18S38=50S43=0S49=6S50=30 OK
It is useful to set the country code first. Use AT#H to check the country code and AT#G to set it. S38.1=1 must be set before any attempts to set the country code otherwise ERROR will be returned. The country code for the xUUSR is 230. The country code is stored in NVRAM and doesn't be rewritten both with atz> and at&f or hardware reset.
&Y - break mode (expedited, non-destructive).
*P - transmission power level, -dB. Valid values are 0...15. Real
range is 3...12. *P9
is usual for xUSSR telephone lines.
S50 - inactivity timer (in tens seconds).
In general, simple dial-up connection is too easy application for ZyXEL.
It has a lot of features which are completely useless in this mode. But, if
you need to do some limitations in the protocol choosing, use the &N
command. Here is the small guide of its possible values:
&N0 - Auto-handshake with all possible protocols.
&N3 - V.32
protocol (9600T/9600/7200T/4800).
&N17 - V.32bis
protocol (14400/12000/9600/7200/4800).
&N18 - V.32bis
protocol (12000/9600/7200/4800).
&N32 - V.17G3 ZyXEL FAX
protocol.
To enable FAX answer set s38.4=0, to enable FAX call set s42.4=0.
